A paid-up letter is written confirmation from a creditor that an account is settled in full. It is the single most useful document in credit record clearance — because without it, the bureau has no instruction to update the listing, and a debt you paid months ago keeps dragging your profile down.
Under the NCA regulations, once a settlement is confirmed the bureau must update your record within seven days. The delay is almost always in getting the creditor to issue the letter — which is exactly the persistent, correctly-worded follow-up we do for you.
For anyone who has paid or settled an account — whether recently or long ago — that still shows as outstanding, or where the creditor has closed, moved or gone quiet and you cannot get confirmation on your own.
